“My art is an expression of my ever-evolving relationship with identity as a Muslim Palestinian-American woman. I am interested in reviving materials from the past, specifically from my heritage to imagine their place in my life today.”

Artist Bio: I am a visual artist based in Houston, TX specializing mainly in printmaking and painting while also exploring collage, drawing, and digital art. My art is an expression of my ever-evolving relationship with identity as a Muslim Palestinian-American woman. I am interested in reviving materials from the past, specifically from my heritage to imagine their place in my life today. My work contains references to historical photography and documents, as well as poetry, calligraphy, and stories. I challenge myself to look at and present these materials in new and refreshing ways that reflect my personal experiences. In doing so, I may recognize the nuances and complexities of my individual identity as a part of a larger collective identity that is strengthened by these source materials. You can find my work online on Instagram (@linahabazi) and on Facebook (facebook.com/linahabazi).
